And Shepherds We Shall Be
Our life in so many words...I'm the tattooed mom, Lestat is my angel. The beginning of a prayer is what the title is from, and since our last name is Shepherd I twisted it to apply to us.
Shepherds We Shall Be

Well it's been months. Moved home and things have been crazy until now! But that's basically the update. We moved home in April and I temporarily lost my sanity living at the parentals for more than two months. Got a great job, Lestat back in school, and finally my own apartment with tv and internet! Yay! It's been so great to be home and be back around family and friends! We've had some great times and great pics taken in just a short time! I love my family so much and even though I needed to escape Utah I'm glad to be back around the people I wanna be with! Enjoying being on my own and sadly I'm over excited that I have internet, cable, and a coffee pot. I'm so behind the times I'm excited about the lamest shit! Things are just great and I'm loving watching Lestat become more independent and smiling about how smart he is! Things are still unpredictable, but that's the beauty of it. I may not be able to predict every outburst or challenge, but what Lestat has done for me is cure my compulsion to overplan everything before it's even a remote possibility. I used to anticipate the worst from everything so that if it happened I'd be prepared. Well a lot still happened and I was no more prepared like I thought. So having Lestat has made me calm down and not overplan my future. I can still think about it sure, who doesn't? But now I take things one day at a time. And now, I appreciate more. So even though I'm still not exactly where I want to be, I'm happy where we are.

Catching Up!
Okay it has been FAR TOO LONG since my last blog! Things have been crazy, and will probably stay crazy for a bit but once I get my own laptop I promise to be better at this! In the meantime, here is as brief a summary as I can manage!
We made witch hat cookies for Halloween...
And Trick or Treated like a champ!
I successfully made a small Thanksgiving feast...
AND WE GOT PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS TAKEN!
I just love this boy so much!
He is my lil angel in leather!
Family matters the most...
And even though I now have wrinkles, they're mommy wrinkles from smiling at this guy so much!
We flew home for Christmas!
My mom and I matched!
Shepherds under one roof again!
Dyed my hair with Kori!
Dad wasn't quite so sure what I'd done...
I have so many pictures of us going home for only the weekend that I could never put everyone up here! I'm talking well over a hundred pics of everyone I love but yet no group shot....whoops!
We had a wonderful Christmas of our own...
With some new threads!
He's a future rockstar. Just sayin...
The best little gift from my sweet boy!
Then we rang in the new year! I've become a karaoke addict and Lestat loves big breakfasts the next morning when mommy is recovering haha
We finally got some snow and played in it!
I love the flakes flying around him when he threw a big pile in the air!
And this is always obvious!
We did EVEN MORE BAKING!
My lil chef loves to bake!
It's always so fun in the kitchen!
He's my best helper...
Even thinks he can put these in the oven and cried when I wouldn't let him!
And we devoured our mini reeses cookies!
So that's roughly what we have done in the past couple months, so much more adventure to be had! And I just can't wait to see how the spring pans out for us!
What I have been thinking the past few months is how important family is and no matter how far apart we are, nothing changes...
Our life is an adventure and I'm so lucky to be sharing it with an angel!
And I'll end this with a quote I recently saw and loved...
YOU CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS--STEAL IT!
hahahahaha

Baking with my Boy
BAKING SOMETHING I FOUND ON PINTEREST!
So I was perusing Pinterest (just for a minute I swear!) These wonderfully delicious looking rolls popped up and I was salivating! After reading the link, turns out they're called resurrection rolls but I'll just call them sweet rolls LOL. I realized I had all the ingredients and it was simple enough that Lestat could help me and have a blast! So off to the kitchen we went!
First we take a marshmallow and dip it in melted butter...
He LOVED this!
Then you dip the buttery marshmallow in cinnamon sugar! (Working for a spice factory has soooo paid off! I have the expensive ceylon cinnamon and I got it free!)
Then you wrap the buttery, cinnamon sugary marshmallow in a crescent roll and wrap it tight so it seals it in!
Then all you do is bake these sweet lil babies at 350 for 12 minutes! I topped mine with the last of the cinnamon sugar crumbles! YUMM!!
Lestat really loved helping me make something and it was a lot of fun doin somethin in the kitchen with my lil man! I just love him so much!
HOLY YUMNESS! They turned out great! I didn't seal them very well so next time I aim to do even better!!! Yay for actually doing/making something I saw on Pinterest!

Pumpkin Farm with an Ostrich?
Lestat just looks to tired and sleepy in his cute new monter shirt! |
And sometimes,
its just enough to walk through the fallen leaves together
and smile at each other as they crunch.
No stealing Lestat! |
Checkin out this big bird! |
So cool! |
They're huge! |
Up close and personal. |
So glad it didn't peck my head! |
Lestat wanted to touch it! |
Thinkin about throwin the pumpkin... |
And he threw it. |
Giggling like a maniac cause I kept saying don't throw it! |
Distracted by turkey gobbles |
Awww! He is so stinkin cute! |
Still tryin to touch it! |
Sayin hi |
This was so cool. |
Holding a squash or gourd that looks like a jellyfish to me |
Snake gourds! |
Pumpkin tower! |
My haul! |
